Cookie Policy

1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file (typically 4 KB) that a web server stores in the visitor's browser. The browser then automatically sends the cookie back to the server on every subsequent visit to the website. Cookies are used to recognize users and to personalize the website for each of them.
Types of cookies by duration:
- Session cookies — exist only for the duration of one browser session (they disappear when the browser is closed)
- Persistent cookies — remain in the browser for a longer period (days, months, years) until they are deleted manually or expire
Cookies are most commonly:
- First-party cookies — set directly by the 7virides.com website
- Third-party cookies — set by services the website uses (Google Analytics, etc.)
2. Categories of cookies on 7virides.com
Category 1: Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
These cookies are necessary for the technical transmission of communication and for the basic operation of the website. Under Section 89(3) of Czech Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications (ECA), and under the GDPR, they do not require the user's consent.

Provider: 7virides.com (own consent management)
Purpose: Stores the user's cookie consent choice — which cookie categories were accepted and which were declined
Type: Persistent cookie (first-party)
Lifetime: 60 days
Legal basis: Section 89(3) ECA — strictly necessary for consent management
What is stored: Policy version, a randomly generated consent identifier, the selected categories and a timestamp
Google Tag Manager (_dc_gtm_*)
Provider: Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited for the EEA)
Purpose: Controls the loading of third-party scripts. GTM itself does not collect personal data — it is a “container” that runs other scripts according to the consents given. It loads only after the visitor has made a choice in the cookie banner.
Type: HTTP cookie
Lifetime: 1 minute

Legal basis: Section 89(3) ECA — strictly necessary for controlling script loading
Category 2: Analytics cookies (consent required)
These cookies are used to analyze user behavior, count visits and understand how people use the website. They are not necessary for its basic operation, but they help the controller improve the content. They require explicit consent under Section 89(3) ECA and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Provider: Google LLC, Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
Purpose: Traffic analysis — number of users, pages visited, traffic sources, device type, time spent on the site.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
What is sent to Google: IP address (anonymized), device type and operating system, browser, language settings, time spent on the page, referring page (referrer).
What is NOT sent: The full IP address, any special categories of data, the user's name or e-mail address.
Transfers to the USA: Yes. Legal basis: EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) — Google is certified. Fallback mechanism: Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Data retention: GA4 retains detailed user-level data for 14 months. After that, the data is aggregated and the individual records are deleted.
Google Consent Mode v2: The website implements Google Consent Mode v2. If the user declines consent, Google receives only anonymized “pings” without identifying cookies. Until the visitor makes a choice in the cookie banner, no data is sent to Google.
Category 3: Marketing cookies (consent required)
7virides.com currently does not use any marketing cookies (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, etc.). Should they be introduced in the future, they will be added to the cookie banner and will require consent.
3. Cookie banner and consent management
On your first visit to the website, a cookie banner is displayed. It contains:
- A short explanation of the cookies the website uses
- The “Accept all” button — all non-essential cookies
- The “Accept only essential cookies” button — strictly necessary cookies only
- The “Individual privacy settings” link — choice of individual categories
Key rules:
- The “Accept all” and “Accept only essential cookies” buttons have equal visual prominence
- Closing the banner without making a choice = analytics cookies remain off
- Scrolling the website is not consent
- No boxes are pre-ticked
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time. The permanent “Cookie settings” link in the website footer and the icon in the bottom left corner reopen the settings. When consent is withdrawn, analytics cookies are deleted from your browser.
Record of consent
The website records when the user gave or declined consent, which categories were chosen and which version of this policy the choice relates to. The record is stored under a randomly generated identifier, without an IP address or any other identifying data, is kept for 3 years and serves as proof of consent.

5. Google Analytics specifics and transfers to the USA
Anonymization and data protection
7virides.com has IP anonymization enabled in GA4 — the last octet of the IP address is masked automatically. Google Analytics does not make it possible to identify a specific person by name.
Transfer Impact Assessment (TIA)
The controller has assessed the risks of transferring data to the USA. Risk-mitigating measures:
- IP addresses are anonymized
- No special categories of data are stored
- Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework
- GA4 data is retained for a maximum of 14 months

If you want to know what data the website collects about you through cookies, you have the right to request it.

8. Changes to this Policy
The controller reserves the right to amend this Policy when cookies, providers or legal requirements change. In the event of a significant change, newsletter subscribers will be informed by e-mail.
